After-Hours Veterinary Emergency Care
If you are experiencing an emergency with your dog or cat outside our regular hours, please contact one of the after-hours emergency veterinary clinics listed below.
Steps to Take in an Emergency
- Call Ahead if Possible - Contact us directly during regular business hours. For after-hours care, please contact Breadner Veterinary Services.
- Follow Instructions Provided - When contacting an emergency clinic, follow the provided instructions closely. You may receive guidance on administering first aid or making your dog or cat as comfortable as possible. Follow these steps carefully.
- Remain Calm - It's essential to remain calm during emergencies and be cautious around your pet. Dogs and cats in pain often react negatively towards people trying to help, so they may bite or scratch.
- Bring Your Dog or Cat in for Care - For your safety and your companion's well-being, bring them to our Saanichton veterinary clinic during regular hours. For after-hours care, visit the emergency vet location mentioned above.

How long will we have to wait to see the veterinarian?
Our Saanichton animal hospital operates in a similar way to a human doctor's office – it can be unpredictable and you may have to wait.
It simply isn't possible for our team to predict what cases we will see and when they will arrive. We respectfully ask that you call ahead to find out whether we are able to provide emergency care for your pet.
If we are unable to fit an emergency appointment into our veterinarian's schedule, we recommend that you visit the 24/7 animal emergency hospital detailed above.

What types of animals do you treat?
Our veterinarians have experience caring for cats and dogs in emergency situations. Please call ahead to find out if we are able to care for your sick or injured pet.
