Microchipping for Cats & Dogs
Safe & Effective Dog & Cat Identification
Every year, thousands of cats and dogs go missing, only to later end up being found by someone else and brought to an animal shelter. Without any identification, most of them will never be successfully reunited with their families.
Microchipping is a method of providing permanent identification for your four-legged friend. Unlike ID tags on collars, microchips can’t get lost, stolen, or damaged.
At Breadner Veterinary Services, we offer the EIDAP microchip, a widely used product that helps increase your chances of safely recovering your lost dog or cat.
Don't let your furry friend be left without identification. Ask your veterinarian about microchipping for your cat or dog.
How Does Microchipping Work?
A microchip is a safe, simple form of identification that can significantly increase the chance of a reunion between you and your lost dog or cat. Each chip has a unique number that is registered to a specific dog or cat.
A microchip is about the size and shape of a grain of rice. It is injected beneath the surface of your furry companion's skin, between the shoulder blades, in a process similar to a vaccination.
The procedure causes minimal discomfort, takes only a few minutes and can be completed during any visit to Breadner Veterinary Services.
We will register your furry friend's microchip in the national pet recovery database, and you will complete the registration by adding your contact information and address – be sure to keep your information up to date.
EIDAP Microchip
The EIDAP microchip is a trusted solution that enhances the likelihood of safely recovering your lost companion.
If your pet becomes lost and is brought to a veterinary office or shelter, the scanner will read the microchip’s unique ID registration code, allowing your pet to be identified and your information to be retrieved. This facilitates a successful reunion with your beloved companion.
We recommend microchipping for both indoor and outdoor pets. At EIDAP, we are dedicated to happy endings for lost pets, so we encourage you to consider microchipping your pet.
